Ocular Prosthetic Services Available at Anderson’s Optique, Inc.

Anderson’s Optique has been in the prosthetic artificial eye business since it’s inception in 1991.  Charles E. “Chip” Anderson has been involved in the artificial eye business since 1961 (formerly associated with Mississippi Optical Dispensary).

It is our policy to service all artificial eyes for the potential life of the eye (including those manufactured elsewhere). We do not tell patients that they need a new artificial eye every year, or when the eye just needs enlargement or polishing.  We recommend a new eye only when we feel that the plastic has reached its life expectancy (usually 5 to 20 years) and we see evidence of plastic deterioration or when we feel that the shape or color changes would be better accomplished with a new eye rather than serving the old prosthesis.

Eyes Fitted to all types of implants!

• Polish (no flaws, burr marks, tool smarks, pits or casting flaws)
• Posterior surfaces finished and polished to the same high sheen as anterior surfaces
• Shell prosthesis fitted in the same manner as the scleral contact lenses
• Shape conforms to the areas to be filled
• Grooves and lumps:
• Grooves used to provide ptosis correction, a "keeper hook" since "it slips out sometimes"
• Lumps provide "fill" to the lid cavity that has lost some of it’s underlying tissue
